It was a briefly sweltering but immensely enjoyable holiday weekend. It was a briefly sweltering but immensely enjoyable holiday weekend. My mom came out for the week and got to know her precocious grandson a little better. We spent a couple days at Nauset Beach on the Cape with Justin, Sue and Matt Cuyler--who were kind enough to invite us to join them. When the adults were ignoring the children and laughing amongst themselves, Luke would laugh loudly to either A) regain our attention, B) join in the fun or 3) simply mock us. You choose.
Luke is growing and developing quickly. It is truly amazing how much he learns in short periods, and he's becoming more fun each day. He's a very happy boy, and people tend to comment on that so I know it's not just me who thinks so. Cats, dogs, ducks and monkeys are his favorite animals right now, and he gets to see each of them in our neighborhood (OK. Maybe not the monkey. I've been called worse, though.). He loves to make the appropriate animal sounds. He is very focused and, some might say, stubborn. I'm sure the "terrible two's" will be that and more, but for now, we are loving his company. We hope your holiday weekend was great!
