Suffice it to say my first return to West Des Moines, IA since 1994 was epic.
In so many ways, I
picked up right where I left off. I'm proud of my Iowa heritage, and even more proud of my Iowa friends.
The tipping point for making the journey after so long was
the Dan Oppenheim, Jr. Memorial
Golf Tournament. The event was pure class. I didn't consider the amount of effort required until after
The few pictures I have don't do the long weekend justice, but at least I have some.
I got the chance to reconnect with tons of old friends from the '80's.
Played a little frisbee golf, stayed out late at Blazenko's, breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, pool party at King's,
golf, "dancing" at Glen Oaks, late-night at Perkins, ride to the airport. Lots of memories, few details.
