Libby's youngest sister, Anna, graduated from the prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, and we made the trip south. We took a short weekend down to Atlanta for the graduation festivities. Libby's parents, her brother, Josh, and his wife, Tricia, all made the trip. In addition to managing her graduation responsibilities, Anna was a fantastic host.
Having first met Anna when she was ten or eleven years old, I have yet another benchmark for how time flies and I'm old. That said, I'll take this shameless opportunity to leverage her moment and say how proud I am to be part of their family...and for Christmas, I want.... We had a great time in Atlanta and will fondly remember the beautiful weather since we have endured eleventeen weeks straight of rain and 50-degree weather here in Boston.
Most notable was the afternoon barbecue that Anna's boyfriend, Trevor, hosted for us all. He thought it would be good entertainment to get three aging men with impaired metabolisms to eat the infamous Maher Burger. The "burger" consisted of two large, beef patties and in between was a tomato the size of a McDonald's hamburger, a matching Vidalia onion all tied together with several strips of bacon. (I think anyone on those no-carb diets who tried this might have to question their efficacy.) Of course, I rose to the obvious challenge of eating the whole thing. There's a picture for posterity. A couple other garbage can shots of the boys. Enjoy!
