Foster's 2023

4th of July week was spent in Colorado. First, we flew out to see my dad in Loveland, CO (about 5,400 ft above sea level). The four-hour flight was only moderately painful until the final descent. The point at which you're supposed to prepare for landing, Ben had had enough confinement. As Ben went darting down the aisle Libby said half-jokingly to Luke, "Get him!" Get him, he did. Luke tackled Ben. Libby rushed to pick him up and return everyone to their seats. Much to everyone's dismay, Ben's mouth was bleeding profusely all over him, Libby's shirt and then me with the hand off.
Fortunately, it looked much worse than it was. A swollen lip for a few days was the only physical damage. I imagine there will come a day when Ben gets revenge....
Aside from that (and my mysterious food poisoning...), we had a blast at dad's. My sister met us for the whole week from San Francisco. The weather was beautiful, the company was great and the fireworks were unbelievable!
In the middle of all that, Libby and I ditched the kids for a couple days to attend Ken and Meghan Gjone's wedding on Peak 9 at Breckenridge (over 10,000 ft above sea level). A beautiful event with a bunch of Air Force friends. It would be hard to get more scenic than the top of mountain in early summer. Happy Town.
